Chuck Norris Makes Sugar Land Appearance for ZDK
Over the years , the Zen-Do Kai organization of Texas has donated more money to Chuck Norris's Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation than any other organization. In recognition, Mr. Norris put in a photo opportunity at our Sugar Land location. He signed autographs and took individual and group pictures with all of our black belt students and instructors. ZDK raises money mainly through our annual ZDK tournament held every October. Mr. Norris has been very accommodating over the years and has allowed several of our upper-ranked black belts to visit him on the set of Walker, Texas Ranger and at his ranch in Navasota, Texas. Thank you, Mr. Norris for your inspiration and for all you do in the fight against drugs.

Annual ZDK Tournament was a Big Success
The 11th annual ZDK tournament was held in October, 2003. Over 400 martial artists participated in the charity tournament benefiting Chuck Norris's Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation. Every year this tournament becomes more successful and more popular with ZDK, and non-ZDK martial artists alike. The tournament was held at Stafford Middle School in Stafford Texas. Participants took part in either/or both kata and sparring. Divisions were set up according to participant's age and rank. Trophies were awarded to all participants. Over the last 11 years this tournament has become one of the largest and most popular tournaments in Houston.

Tournaments are a wonderful way to support your school and your school's students. It's an excellent learning tool, one that builds character and confidence whether you are participating in the tournament or simply watching. There were participants from all of the various martial arts styles, including Kung Fu, Karate, and Tae Kwon Do.
